Zusatzinfos zum SciFinder-Update vom Dezember 2011

Zum bereits berichteten Update hat Tony Machosky von  CAS nun detaillierte Informationen über Umfang und Quellen der zusätzlich verfügbaren Daten bereitgestellt:

  • Bioactivity indicator terms/Target indicator terms

Approximately 260 predefined bioactivity indicator terms are currently
assigned to nearly six million substances and approximately 5,800
predefined target indicator terms are currently assigned to nearly five
million substances. More than four million substances are currently
assigned both bioactivity and target indicator terms. Bioactivity and
target indicator information is available in substance records dating
back to 1967 and is updated daily.

  • Relevance Ranking

Relevance ranking of an exact or substructure search answer set is based
primarily on the Tanimoto score. Other factors include the CAplus
reference count for a substance and the number of components in the
substance answer. Unlike structure similarity searching, which also uses
the Tanimoto method, all answers in a substance answer set ranked by
relevance will have all of the structure components of the search query.
Multiple fragment structure searches are not processed for relevance
ranking. Standard substance answer set Sort options apply.

  • New spectra

Approximately 75,000 substance records in SciFinder have been updated
with approximately 79,000 new spectra from Bio-Rad, including 48,000 13C
NMR spectra, 29,000 1H NMR spectra and  2,000 mass spectra.
